Multi Resources Group (MRG) started in 1982 in timber processing,
distribution and installation of roofing products, construction and trading
of building materials. From its humble beginning in the Malaysian state of Sarawak,
it has grown to become a multi-national group of companies with operations in South East Asian countries,
Australia and New Zealand, with diverse activities in rollforming, coil coating, steel processing services
like slitting and shearing as well as steel metal works.
Over the past 20 years, MRG's activities have grown in diversification and geographical locations. The group is known to be progressive and innovative. In 1982, MRG pioneered the introduction of the Luxalon longrun metal roofing tile in South East Asia under the brand name of Luxalon together with the Hunter Douglas Group. This has since been changed to Besalon to reflect the popularity of the most advanced roofing system.
In 1988, MRG acquired the intellectual design and patents of the roofing division of Hunter Douglas Group in Australia and New Zealand. This major acquisition has enabled MRG to become probably the biggest manufacturer of the unique longrun roofing tiles in the Asia Pacific region.
In the ensuing years, the emphasis on R & D has enabled the company to introduce more than 10 types of roofing and building products over the years. These include not only roofing profiles, but also their accessories, rainwater goods, ceilings and steel structural components of buildings. MRG thus developed the capabilities to manufacture pre-fabricated buildings and has matured to be a fully integrated building products specialist.
In 1995, MRG and PMP (Prepainted Metal Products) pooled their international research efforts, expertise and technical know-how to develop one of the most advanced coating systems for colour-bonded metal products that can withstand the severest environments and processing. These systems can be customized to different environments and are suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications.
MRG is also the first company in South East Asia to introduce more than 60 colours for roofing, in order to provide customers and architects with a wide choice. In 1998, MRG secured greater cooperation with PMP Metal Service Centre to promote the use of steel structural components, such as frames and trusses, in the construction industry. It is the pioneer in the ASEAN region for steel trusses and framing. In addition to the above, it is one of the first few companies to launch UPVC double glazed windows and doors system in the early 1990s.
Over the years, the staff of MRG have also underwent training and courses in the installation and fabrication of specialized building products such as seating, UPVC double glazed doors and window systems, vinyl flooring, tiles, ventilators, etc. These complement our existing range of products to offer a complete package of services to our clients. Our installation team is now one of the most experienced and skilful in the region.
